ICoTA Global are delighted to introduce our new Treasurer Paul Carragher for the 2022-2023 term!

BiSN Founder & CEO Paul Carragher becomes ICoTA Global Treasurer continuing to support ICoTA and their mission to enhance communication, gather technical expertise, and promote safety, training, competency, and industry-accepted practices around rapid technological advances within the well intervention industry.

“I’m delighted to be joining Stuart and Lucas on the ICoTA board and I’m looking forward to supporting and expanding the ICoTA network on a global basis. When I was brand new to the oil patch, a Conoco engineer told me that this was the association I needed to join, he wasn’t wrong”.

It remains an exciting time to be involved in well intervention. If you are not already a member of ICoTA, we strongly recommend joining your local Chapter where you can benefit from the network for technical exchange, past presentations, and discounted events.

The IRP includes information about coiled tubing operations including recommendations for:

    • Operations planning
    • Well Control Equipment
    • Accumulator Equipment
    • Coiled tubing specifications
    • Fluids and circulating systems
    • QA for Well pressure control equipment
    • Elastomeric seals
    • Well servicing operations

    BEWARE OF SCAMS

Secondary contractors unaffiliated with SPE want your business! Don’t be targeted by predatory companies selling hotel rooms or Attendee Lists who claim to be affiliated with SPE.

The Woodlands Waterway Marriott is the Official Housing Vendor for 2019 CTWI, and the ONLY contractor authorized by SPE to contact you about housing accommodations. Experient is the ONLY company authorized to contact you about Registration and Attendee Lists rentals.

If you receive phone calls or emails from any other company claiming to be the housing vendor for 2019 CWTI or claiming to sell Attendee Lists, please ignore them. If you are unsure, please contact Show Management for verification.

Just wanted to make sure our members understand that there are some scams out there claiming the conference has moved online, etc!

Our ICoTA Chapters have begun to take advantage of hosting webinars and virtual lunch and learns, and it has been fantastic to see the results.

    https://icota.com/news/icota-webinars

ICoTA Canada hosted its first online seminar at the beginning of the month, attracting 79 participants who have all shown an interest in attending similar virtual events. Following its success, the Chapter will host its next webinar on April 29 - High Strength Coiled Tubing - How Is Fatigue Life Affected By Slip Damage? This webinar will highlight the findings of some recent testing of quench and tempered coiled tubing and will compare the results to conventional coiled tubing.

ICoTA Europe follows suit by hosting its first webinar on April 28, presented by TGT and Tullow. Free to attend for all ICoTA members, the two companies will present a case study where passive acoustics have been used to assess the suitability of a zone for Single Well Chemical Tracer Testing by evaluating how effectively targeted zones are in communication with the production string and how effectively adjacent zones are isolated from each other by the relevant completion components.

As an association, we want to support our members as much as possible through this challenging time by continuing to host training events. The format may have changed, but we're delighted to see the same enthusiasm and engagement from our membership. We look forward to seeing you all at more virtual events soon.
